Now all visitors (new and old) will automatically land to your Wall page. You shouldn&#8217;t let this discourage you from using custom tabs as they are now more important than ever.</p>

<p>So Klout is launching a Perk with Hong Kong-headquartered <a href="http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_US/homepage" target="_blank">Cathay Pacific Airways</a>. Anyone in the international terminal at San Francisco International Airport with a Klout score of 40 or higher will be allowed into the airline’s lounge, which is normally limited to Cathay’s first class and business class passengers. Just use the app to show your score to the lounge receptionist and you’ll get access to seven workstations, three showers, and a noodle bar.</p>

In fact the engagement and growth in Facebook users interacting with their page has been so impressive they have been assigned &#8216;Hero&#8217; status by Facebook themselves. It appears once you are noticed by Facebook then you really get on peoples radar and so on June 28th, Tropical Sky will be attending the London Chamber of Commerce&#8217;s &#8216;Facebook for Business&#8217; event.</p>

The business owner soon realized that Social Media was going to be key to their business growth. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s finally here!</p>
<p><a href="https://blog.facebook.com/" target="_blank"> Facebook Timeline</a> for personal profiles has been around for a while now but finally businesses can get in on the act and roll out their own Timelines before the mandatory switch over on March 30th.</p>
<p>So this is a big deal. A very big deal for those of you that have Facebook pages for your business as there are some fundamental changes in the way people will interact with you on the King of all <a href="http://deepspacemarketing.com/social-media/" target="_blank">Social Media</a> platforms.</p>
<p>So what&#8217;s different for your business page with Facebook Timeline?</p>
<p>1. Your whole page looks different</p>
<p>If you have switched your personal profile over to the Timeline format than you will see the business version is quite similar. You get the same cover photo at the top of the page and the page itself is separated into two columns by way of a dividing line. As is the case with personal Timelines a company can show their own  milestones such as the launch of a new product, new hours, opening of a new retail location etc.</p>
<p>2. Where are the tabs?<br />
Social Media Marketing companies like <a href="http://deepspacemarketing.com/about/" target="_blank">Deep Space Marketing</a> were all about the tabs on business Facebook pages but no more. The new Timeline format doesn&#8217;t include the left-side panel of tabbed links. Not that the apps that used to show there have gone way they simply show up in panels underneath the cover photo. So yes, you can still integrate Twitter &amp; YouTube content into your Facebook page via the apps you have always used.</p>
<p>3. Your Welcome Page is no more<br />
This is a big one and something that will likely cause a furrowed brow amongst many business owners. With the new Timeline Page format, you will no longer be able to set a default landing or &#8216;Welcome&#8217; Page.  This was how many companies introduced themselves on Facebook and taking away this opening will really change the experience of the first time page visitor. Now it will become vital to ensure the most visible posts on your wall above the fold are engaging and represent you in the best possible way.</p>
<p>4. You can manipulate your wall via &#8216;Pins&#8217;<br />
While we are not thrilled to say goodbye to Welcome pages we absolutely love the new tool that let&#8217;s page admins keep certain posts at the very top of the Timeline. This is done through &#8216;pinning&#8217; (not related to Pinterest before you ask!). It&#8217;s a way of making sure a post that is really important to your business stays at the top of your page for a specified period of time allowing it to precede any other content. The small orange flags will soon become marketers best friends on <a href="http://deepspacemarketing.com/services/facebook/" target="_blank">Facebook</a>! However you can only pin one post at a time so choose wisely.</p>
<p>5. You can now privately send a messages to businesses on Facebook<br />
OK so there have been apps out there that have allowed companies to do this for a while but now  your business will be able to communicate privately with page users. This is particularly useful for businesses with sensitive subject matter such as those in legal or medical professions.</p>

<p>When Dr. Chad Blackwell approached us to develop a new site for his business he was stuck with a website that he felt didn&#8217;t properly represent his business. We were tasked with delivering a new, fresh, easy to navigate website that his patients, old and new, would enjoy visiting. Allowing the doctor to present his services, location and special offers clearly was a priority as well as conveying his practice as the true general family dental office that it is in Chandler, Arizona. Equally important was developing a website that allowed the practice to make &#8216;day to day&#8217; changes themselves without having to rely on our expertise.</p>
